Ed Corey Trio

The Ed Corey Trio stands as a pillar of the Northern Nevada modern creative jazz scene, anchored by core members Ed Corey on guitar, Hans Halt on bass, and Andrew Heglund on drums. Known for their sophisticated, harmonically rich approach to contemporary jazz and deep ties to the University of Nevada, Reno, the ensemble cemented its creative footprint with the 2006 release of its acclaimed album, Modal Citizen. Showcasing 10 original and reimagined tracks, the record highlights the trio's tight-knit synergy, modal mastery, and the sophisticated chamber-jazz aesthetic that these prominent educators and performers have long brought to regional stages.
