Hans Halt

Hans Halt is an accomplished bassist, composer, and educator who serves as a full-time instructor of bass and jazz studies at the University of Nevada, Reno, where he teaches jazz improvisation, arrangement, composition, and keyboard techniques. Having built an extensive professional career that spans over four years of playing across Buffalo, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the Reno-Tahoe region, he performs regularly with the Reno Philharmonic and the Reno Jazz Orchestra. In addition to his orchestral and ensemble work, Halt leads the vibrant Afro-Cuban and Latin-jazz group No Comprende, cementing his status as a pillar of the regional creative music community.
