Tony Savage is an accomplished Reno-based drummer and co-founder of the Reno Jazz Orchestra. Coming from a local musical family with a mother who sang and played piano and a grandfather who led a popular town dance band, Savage began performing publicly at a young age. Over a prolific decades-long career, he has toured extensively—including a 12-year tenure with Engelbert Humperdinck—and has backed notable music icons such as Sammy Davis Jr., Barry Manilow, and Patti Austin. Well-regarded for his powerful big-band style and pro musicianship, Savage continues to record drum tracks for global projects from his home studio in Reno while maintaining a celebrated legacy in the regional jazz scene.
