The Reno Jazz Orchestra is a premier 17-piece contemporary big band based in Northern Nevada. Formed in 1997 by former casino showroom musicians who previously backed legendary entertainers like Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and Sammy Davis Jr., the nonprofit organization is dedicated to preserving and advancing the grand tradition of big band jazz through world-class public performances, dynamic guest artist collaborations, and extensive youth education programs such as the Reno Youth Jazz Orchestra and annual Jazz in the Schools initiative.
