As the founder and leader of New World Jazz Project, McGuinness blends straight‑ahead jazz tradition with Latin, funk, and global influences, creating a vibrant, genre‑crossing ensemble known for its sophisticated arrangements and adventurous improvisation. A longtime music educator and respected collaborator, he has performed with top regional and national artists while continually nurturing new talent through teaching and mentorship.
