Chris Clark

Chris Clark is a Reno‑based saxophonist, composer, and educator whose work bridges traditional jazz, modern improvisation, and contemporary styles. A faculty member in the University of Nevada, Reno School of Music, Clark directs large and small jazz ensembles and teaches jazz history and saxophone. His debut album, Cedar Wisely (Songlines Recordings, 2013), earned international praise for its expressive clarity and compositional depth. Clark holds a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of Oregon and a Master of Music in Jazz & Improvisational Music from UNR. As a performer, he has collaborated with artists across the Pacific Northwest and Reno–Tahoe region, contributing to the Reno Jazz Orchestra’s vibrant sound and mentoring emerging musicians through his private teaching studio.
