Caryn Neidhold

Caryn Wiegand Neidhold is a performer, teacher, composer, and arranger who brings exceptional versatility to the Reno music community. In addition to playing upright and electric bass with the Sapphire Jazz Ensemble, she performs viola with the Reno Philharmonic and violin with the Reno Chamber Orchestra. She teaches orchestra at Billinghurst Middle School and is a leader in introducing eclectic styles—including jazz, fiddle, and rock—to middle school string students. Caryn is a published composer and arranger with two books and more than fifty works available through noted publishers such as Carl Fischer and Alfred. Performing with Sapphire fulfills her lifelong desire to return to playing bass in a jazz ensemble.
